As promised, here is Part 2 of the Post-Wedding Workflow! This picks up where Part 1 left off and we’re excited to share our tips with you!
When the wedding comes to an end, we all know that it’s just gearing up for you! While the couple is off on their honeymoon (or nursing the wedding hangover), you’re slaying at home making sure your images are backed up, culled, edited, and ready to provide on time. Once that workflow is checked off, there’s still more! Providing the best customer care and booking more clients is of the utmost importance, so let’s get it!
Here are some of the best steps to follow once your clients have received their galleries:
Blog that shit!
Like we mentioned in Part 1, selecting photos to blog while you’re culling and editing is going to cut down on time. So now, you have them ready to go for this next step! Having blog copy that is no less than 300 words is going to help your SEO rating immensely. This gives Google the opportunity to pick up all those keywords you’re going to drop in there. Together with Alt tags, you’re on the fast track to being seen in way more places! Not to mention this makes your couples feel incredibly special, gives credit to all the other badass vendors you worked with, and boosts your business. Your blog can be entirely your brand and your voice. If you are the hopeless romantic type, you can include the story of how the couple met. If you have a wicked sense of humor, tell some funny stories from the bridal party pics. The options are endless and you can make this perfectly you!
Share the gallery with vendors
Sharing all your photos with the amazing vendors from the same event is a great way to build strong relationships within your own industry, as well as reach further with your work. The wedding planner, florist, baker, venue, caterer, etc. will all be so excited to see your incredible images of their hard work and they are going to want to share the shit out of it. And just like when you credit them in your blog, they’re going to share your name with their community and voila, you are reaching even more people by doing the simplest thing!
Submit images for publication
There are countless places that you can submit your work. From online to print publications, this is a fantastic way to have your work seen on a wider scale. Most will have a specific list of what they look for in a submission so you can select photos for each place based on what they require. And be sure to do this for each wedding! While one wedding might not be a fit for one publication, the next one could be exactly what they are looking for! So many of these publications reach more people than we could ever dream to on our own. And let’s face it – they deserve to see your work!
Schedule to Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest
This is so important in social media-driven day and age. People are visual beings and they love to see pictures. We all literally scroll through hundreds, if not thousands of strangers’ pictures each day looking to connect. We want to share in their joy and even relate to their sorrow. But weddings fall into the first category, so share all of it! Put sneak peeks in your Instagram stories, post multiple images in the weeks following, and make rich pins for Pinterest that will draw more people to your site. All of these steps are a fast way to make your name a staple in people’s vocabulary. Your couples will share their pics, their friends will go to your page or site, and once they see how badass and talented you are, boom….another client!
Ask for testimonials
I know it feels weird to ask for reviews, but people are always happy to give you a great review when your client care was as amazing as yours is! Have them do it not only on your Facebook page, but also on Google. It helps boost your name and is going to get more people in the door to experience your talent, your care, and your killer delivery! People also love seeing their reviews shared in your IG stories or on your Facebook. Even if their name is blurred out, they feel your appreciation!
