Stacey recently met up with a fellow Kamloopsian and chatted about fashion in the photography world. I’m not talking about the runway styles that photographers are snapping pics of, I am talking about what they wear while they are shooting! Especially weddings! How does one stay professional, weather appropriate, and ideally fashion-forward? Enter Courtney Vike! She’s a badass chick with killer style and she is going to be popping on to our blog seasonally to talk about the best tips, tricks, and outfits for photographers to wear to rock their business while looking amazing! It’s not as easy as you would think writing a blurb about yourself! Am I even interesting enough to find enough things to say? Am I relevant..
Okay… I was born and raised in Kamloops. I always thought I wanted to get out and live the big city life, but after working out of town and attending some of my schooling out of town, I have really found my love for Kam Town. I am a lifestyle blogger/influencer, who loves to share their two cents and be as relate-able as possible. I am definitely not one of those working moms who has her shit together all the time… I am pretty much a hot mess who is fully reliant on dry shampoo, under eye concealer, and coffee.
Why do I blog? I hope to inspire and share my tips on styling, lifestyle, momming, and décor. My name is Courtney Doherty and my love for fashion stems back as long as I can remember. I blog under my maiden name Courtney Vike because fashion is in my blood, it’s in my roots. For as long as I can remember, I would slip into my mom’s heels, hats, and jewelry and march around the house. I started my fashion blog in 2017 because I LOVE to set trends and inspire people. I have evolved into a lifestyle blogger since having babies… at this point in my life, it’s much more relatable.
I am a mom of two – Fynn and Jette are the absolute loves of my life. Motherhood has shaped me into the woman that I am, but it also doesn’t define me entirely. I still love to go out, dress up, swear too much, drink wine, and gossip with my girlfriends. After having kids, and eventually learning to regain my personal style and image, I gained a new kind of confidence (and realism) that I hope to share with others.
My Mantra – Do you! Do whatever makes you feel happy and passionate. Don’t let your fears of judgement from other people get in your way. Oh, and always wear sunscreen!
