IT’S THE TENTH EPISODE OF THE PEPPERCAST!! THE VIDEO SERIES WHERE PEPPER’S BADASS CEO AND FOUNDER, STACEY OWEN, CHATS WITH SOME CRAZY TALENTED CREATIVE ENTREPRENEURS AND PHOTOGRAPHERS IN THE BIZ!
This episode was filmed pre-COVID with Scarlet O’Neill, an intimate lifestyle and editorial photographer who captures love in all its beauty. When she’s not behind the camera making magic, she is with her husband and son, loving every minute of her family life. Scarlet is the girl we all want to be friends with (a fellow carb-lover, midnight online-shopper, and music-blasting badass) and the photographer we need in our lives to capture our memories. She is wildly talented, successful, but so freaking down-to-earth that you just want to be around her.
Stacey and Scarlet discuss the industry, as well as the sometimes difficult journey through motherhood while being a successful entrepreneur. We love that Scarlet opened up and talked candidly about the juggling act that she and so many other women face while trying to be the best mother (and wife) they can be while also maintaining their own identity. She stripped it down in this episode to talk about those pressures and how to still be a badass business owner while having a work/life balance. And we’ve heard it before, but it’s such a powerful quote and we were stoked that Scarlet said it (and elaborated on it) again:
We expect women to work like they don’t have children and raise children as if they don’t work.
These episodes are going to be coming at you with cool new guests, so definitely keep checking in! We have some of the most talented people lined up to join Stacey to talk about success in the industry and in life, work/life balance, creative entrepreneurship struggles, pivoting and adapting to our “new normal”, and everything in-between.
